Monk, who managed Leeds between 2016-17, was met with hostility by fans at Elland Road and his side fell to their first league defeat since October.

Marcus Tavernier was substituted as a precaution but is expected to be availablePA:Press Association What is the team news?

Hosts Middlesbrough are expected to name an unchanged side, despite the defeat over the weekend.

The side currently sit in the play-off positions but only on goal difference and Monk will want to get back to winning games after a disappointing performance.

Marcus Tavernier was substituted after 56 minutes at Elland Road following a challenge from Pontus Jansson but is expected to be available.

There are no new suspension concerns for Monk.

Despite an excellent performance, Birmingham goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak will be hoping to see less of the ball during their midweek clash.

After Che Adams scored in the first five minutes against Notts Forest, the Blues shot-stopper saw more of the ball than he would have liked as he made sure his side kept a clean sheet in their first win in five games.

David Davis is one yellow card away from suspension, but manager Steve Cotterill has no fresh injury concerns.
