Someone threw milk at Jose Mourinho in bizarre post-match Manchester derby fight

First came Pizzagate, when Cesc Fabregas launched pizza at Sir Alex Ferguson following the ‘Battle of the Buffet’ in 2004.

Now brace yourself for Milkgate.

A row broke out following Man City’s 2-1 win against Man United at Old Trafford, with someone reportedly throwing milk and water at Jose Mourinho.

United were said to be incensed about the way City reacted to the derby win, with loud music reportedly coming from the latter’s dressing room.

Mourinho then had a confrontation with City’s goalkeeper Ederson, initially in Portuguese but then in- what we presume was very friendly and well mannered- English.

Romelu Lukaku, who had an unfortunate hand in both City goals and missed a fantastic chance to equalise late in the game, was reportedly involved in the commotion.

This bust-up in the tunnel at Old Trafford today. It wasn't handbags: Mikel Arteta was left with blood pouring down face. Bottles as well as punches thrown. Romelu Lukaku prominently involved, according to witnesses.

But it was poor ol’ Mikel Arteta who came off worst.

The City assistant coach was left bloodied according to multiple reports, although no punches were said to have been thrown.

Ouch.

So, compared to 2004, when Fergie had to wipe margherita off his jacket, this was quite serious.

Neither Mourinho nor Pep Guardiola commented about the incident in their post-match interviews.

But we can’t see it being too long before Mourinho has his say on the events.
